Investor in People
Morrison Utility Services is recognised as an “Investor in People” and has recently passed the assessment for reaccredidation for a further three years, which now lasts up to September 2010.
Morrison first gained recognition as an Investor in People in February 1995 and this latest recognition will take our accreditation up to 15 years as an Investor in People.
Our bespoke training programmes are recognised as the best in the business and have won industry awards and Investor in People accreditation. In-house and externally accredited courses provide our staff with the confidence and knowledge to deliver results.
Morrison’s commitment to innovative training programmes, combined with effective communication of its health and safety messages is helping to drive its current success.
Morrison believes that site supervisors should be the first port of call for safety on site. With this in mind, Morrison works with the Institute of Leadership and Management to train first line managers in leadership and management to an equivalent NVQ Level 2. These managers are then able to convey safety and procedural issues with authority throughout their teams. Morrison also offers other managers the Certificate in Management Studies course, equivalent to a NVQ Level 3.
Within Morrison, all levels of employees from Operatives to Directors receive formal accredited safety training. This is through various IOSH (the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) accredited, company-branded bespoke courses aimed at promoting safety in utilities. There is a one-day course aimed at operatives, a five-day course for managers and a two-day course for supervisors. These courses cover a range of topics including the moral, legal and economic arguments of safe working practices.
