Description:

The Gas Meter Exchange Programme is for the whole of United Utilities’ operational area, which requires the replacement of 800 Gas Meters per day and uses the Wheatly Scheduling System.

Morrison are responsible for the supply chain management of new and replacement meters, along with the disposal of replaced meters. All Morrison vehicles are fitted with GPS Satellite Navigation systems, storage for both new and old meters and a PSION PDA management tool for updating whilst on the road.

Morrison’s specialist IS team has developed bespoke metering management software and are working with the designers of the Wheatly System to improve and streamline systems to enable improved data flow between ourselves and United Utilities. Our capability for gas installations in the North consists of over 50 Gas Meter Engineers, with additional personnel being trained to join the team.

Morrison also undertakes construction of New Connections work within the Lancashire / South Lakes area for United Utilities Networks Division.
