Southern Gas Networks EMS and Onstream Contracts

Value: £17m (EMS & Onstream)
Contract: EMS & Onstream Contracts
Term: 2 Years (until 2008)
Location: South of England

Description

The EMS contract is one of the work streams Morrison manages for SGN in the South of England. Previously part of the main Engineering Period Contract, the work was originally undertaken for NGT but in the sale of the networks it was novated to Southern Gas Networks.

This award increased our portfolio of service offerings to the gas transportation sector, we now provide over 100 engineers under the current contract.

Scope of work

Morrison supports SGN's direct labour on emergencies, investigating and locating gas escapes both internally and externally. Engineers working a 24/7 365 day roster, are able to mobilise very quickly to support SGN in responding to major incidents where supply has been lost to a number of properties across a wide geographical area.

Morrison also carries out gas meter installations, the installation of pre-payment meters and attends to faults on these pre-payment meters. Geographically this contract covers Milton Keynes to Weymouth across the Southeast, taking in South London and extends to the Kent coast.

Onstream contract

Morrison has over 30 engineers working on the Onstream contract on behalf of National Grid covering a similar geographical area to that mentioned above. The work involves the changing of consumer’s gas meters (under a meter exchange programme). The work is planned by Onstream and carried out by Morrison engineers.
