Sponsorship Boost For Lanarkshire 2011 International Children’s Games
The Lanarkshire 2011 International Children's Games has received a further boost following the signing of a new high-profile supporter. The latest sponsorship agreement is with leading repairs and maintenance provider Morrison.
Morrison, which has a long established history in Lanarkshire, has signed a sponsorship deal to support the golf event, which will be held at Hamilton Golf Club and the official commemorative programme for the Games.
John Boyd, Area Managing Director for Morrison, said: "We are very proud to be associated with the International Children's Games and truly believe it offers Lanarkshire a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate its many strengths and achievements.
"The Games will provide an opportunity to transform the communities of Lanarkshire, a philosophy at the very heart of Morrison's values. We have a strong sense of responsibility towards the wider community and embrace making a positive difference. Through our support of the Games we will be able to encourage children and young people to become more active and lead healthier lives. This will hopefully have a positive effect on their futures and help give them the confidence to achieve their goals.
"Over the course of the next 12 months we will be launching a number of initiatives with local partners to encourage children in Lanarkshire to become more physically active."
The Lanarkshire Games will be the 45th International Children's Games and will involve over 1700 young people from more than 70 countries. The Games, which will take place in August 2011, will involve ten different sports including golf, swimming, tennis and football.
