Morrison Promotes Manager to New Role
Morrison, a leading provider of maintenance services and capital projects to the housing sector, has appointed a new Partnering Manager to its North East business.
Mel Cole has been promoted from within Morrison and will oversee Decent Homes and capital works programmes on the company's contract with The Gateshead Housing Company. Mel will also oversee Morrison's building services, disabled adaptations and the asbestos survey and removal team.
Mel, who joined Morrison in 2005 as a Contract Manager, has worked on a variety of contracts in the North East over the past five years and has played a key role in developing service standards.
A central part of Mel's new role will involve him expanding the business with regards to both new and existing clients and developing complete service packages for both repairs and improvement works.
Prior to joining Morrison, Mel worked for Gateshead Local Environmental Services, where he started as an electrical installation and maintenance manager, before moving on to manage the whole building services department.
Commenting on his appointment Mel said: "Having worked for Morrison for a number of years I am very pleased to have this opportunity to take on new challenges and help grow the business in the North East. These are challenging times but I am confident that Morrison has the ability to meet these challenges and provide innovative solutions to its clients."
Linda Colburn, Partnering Director, Morrison North East, added: "Mel has an excellent knowledge of the repairs and maintenance sector, which is invaluable to our business and has real benefits for our clients and employees. I am delighted that we have been able to promote him to the role of Partnering Manager and I look forward to working with him to ensure we deliver exceptional services to our clients and their residents."
