Kensington and Chelsea TMO award new contract to Morrison
The five year contract, which has an option to extend for a further five years, will commence on the 1 December 2009 and is worth around £4million per annum. Morrison secured the contract following a competitive tender process against eight other companies.
Morrison will provide a range of repairs and maintenance services, including day to day responsive repairs, out of hours repairs and void maintenance services to the 9,760 properties managed by Kensington and Chelsea TMO on behalf of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
Kensington and Chelsea TMO took responsibility for Kensington and Chelsea’s housing stock in 1996 and is now a 3 star housing organisation, with excellent prospects for improvement. The TMO has 4,000 tenant members and was one of the country’s first Arms Length Management Organisations (ALMO).
Robert Black, Chief Executive of Kensington & Chelsea TMO said: “This is an excellent opportunity for the TMO and Morrison to work together in partnership to deliver a different service that meets our customers’ expectations and by doing so we will improve our customer satisfaction.”
Guy Wakeley, Chief Executive of Morrison, said: “We are extremely pleased to have been awarded this contract with Kensington and Chelsea TMO and look forward to the commencement of this new partnership. Morrison is already well established in London and we will use this knowledge to ensure we deliver the best possible service to the residents of Kensington and Chelsea.
“We will also be supporting a wide range of community development projects throughout the borough, through our designated resident liaison team, which will provide benefits to the whole community.”
