Morrison is owned by AWG Plc, which in turn is owned by Osprey Acquisitions Limited (Osprey), a private consortium comprising of Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Colonial First State Global Asset Management, Industry Funds Management and 3i Group plc.

Morrison currently has the full backing of its parent company, AWG Plc and Osprey to continue business as normal. Morrison is therefore committed to continue in line with the current strategy as agreed with AWG Plc and Osprey.
How old is Morrison?
Morrison Construction was founded in 1948 in Tain.
In the early 1980’s, Charter Consolidated acquired Biggs Wall (founded in 1884), Shand Construction (Shand) and Morrison Construction. Charter owned 100% of both Shand and Biggs Wall, but only 80% of Morrison Construction with the Morrison family owned the remaining 20%.
In 1989, the Morrison family acquired the remaining 80% of Morrison Construction as well as Shand and Biggs Wall. The three companies merged into one under the name Morrison Construction.
Morrison Construction floated on the London Stock Exchange in 1995 as Morrison Construction Plc.
In August 2000, Morrison Construction became part of AWG Plc.
In March 2006, Morrison sold the construction arm of the business to Galliford Try, and continued trading under the name Morrison, with two divisions, utility services and facilities services.
In September 2006, Osprey bought AWG Plc and therefore Morrison became de-listed.
