MORRISON TAMWORTH
Going Walkabout in Tamworth
The Tamworth team have been getting active recently by participating in two walkabout events that encouraged residents to express their concerns and opinions on improvements they would like to see in their community.
The Walkabouts took place in both the Stonydelph and Belgrave areas and participants from Tamworth Borough Council also took part in the form of tenant participation officers, housing officers and caretaking service operatives. The walkabout was used to meet the community in an informal way and discuss anti-social behaviour, repair work required to the external fabric of communal buildings, brickwork and fencing, including the removal of graffiti.
Following the walkabouts, the findings were discussed over a cup of tea and biscuits with the residents. Their feedback was carefully categorised so that the improvements identified and requested could get under way in accordance with how quickly the repairs needed doing. Well done to Darren Jackson and Kate Ferris for setting up the walkabouts and for communicating in an innovative way to better the lives of the Tamworth residents they serve!
