MORRISON LIVERPOOL
Morrison step up to SOS cal in aid of Children in Need
Over four Morrison teams have come together this September to support the BBC’s DIY SOS “Big Build” initiative in the North West.
A total of twenty nine Morrison staff including members of different trades in our Liverpool, Manchester, Rotherham and Leeds teams took up the challenge recently to help convert the run down Norris Green Youth Centre in nine days in aid of Children In Need. The Morrison team joined forces with other contractors who also took on this demanding challenge to make a huge difference.
Community Development Manager Brian Gates, who coordinated the Morrison staff effort, said “This project has been an immense challenge in itself, as we needed to deliver a first class service for our clients in tandem to working on this worthwhile initiative. All the Morrison team members involved have been brilliant and have met all their target deadlines; some have worked without pay into the evening and over the weekend so that we can complete the works on time.
Everyone I have talked to has enjoyed working on the project and I would like to say a big thanks to Phil Tranter, Phil Joslin, Claire Fitzmorris, and Keith Brown for all their help and assistance in making this dream a reality.” The BBC filmed all the progress made on the project and so the Morrison team’s efforts to convert the Youth Centre were given national publicity and reward on the TV show “DIY SOS” which aired this November. Well done to all the operatives who took part – you really went the extra mile and we are very proud of you!
All in all, Morrison successfully raised a grand total of £2,338 for Children In Need so well done to Brian Gates and everyone who helped raise such an impressive total!”
