Planting Event

Residents of Riverside’s Latham Court and Stephenson Court in Kensington have been out in force planting an array of beautiful plants at the housing schemes.

The local landlord’s Clean Team joined forces with housing service provider Morrison to brighten up both developments.

Tea and biscuits were provided to green fingered tenants who spent the morning planting a selection of flora and fauna in the beds surrounding the properties.

Tenants will take ownership of the plants and be expected to feed and water them to keep them in tip-top shape. Morrison donated £500 worth of perennials to tenants and was on hand to help with the planting.

Brain Gates, Morrison community development manager said the plants made a real difference to the lives of tenants.

He said ‘Morrison value older people and want to make a difference to people’s lives where we can. By providing the plants people will be able to enjoy the fragrant and colorful outdoor surroundings and hopefully take up ownership of the gardens throughout the summer months.’
