Furniture Donation Raises £1,000 for St Oswald's Hospice
St Oswald's Hospice in Gosforth has raised £1,000 in vital funds thanks to the support of social housing repairs provider Morrison.
The funds were raised through the sale of Morrison's surplus office furniture, which was donated by the company following its recent North East office move. Rather than throwing away the unwanted items, Morrison decided to donate them to St Oswald's who could then sell them on to raise funds for its services which help adults and children with life limiting conditions throughout the region.
St Oswald's Hospice is a registered charity, which offers a wide range of services including a
day hospice, lymphoedema service, an inpatient unit, complementary therapy services, a consultant outpatient clinic and specialist short break services for children and young adults.
Anita Ball, Director of Fundraising and Retail for St Oswald's said: "We are extremely grateful to Morrison for their kind donation of office furniture. The sale of this furniture has raised a fantastic £1,000 which will help us to provide specialist care to local adults, young people and children at the time when they need it the most."
Neil Dixon, Account Director, Morrison North East said, "We are delighted to support such a worth while North East charity. Not only has this donation helped St Oswald's continue its excellent work in the local community, but it has also helped us to ensure that our surplus furniture is reused and recycled which is a key part of our environmental commitment."
Donation's to St Oswald's can be made by dropping them into one of their 16 shops or by calling their collection line on 0191 246 8123 to organise a collection.
