Morrison is working in an innovative partnering contract with Crawley Borough Council in the management of the Council voids maintenance programme. Crawley BC had used a traditional supplier over the previous decade with mixed performance, inflexible service supply and no cost benchmarking.
Morrison secured the Voids, Kitchens and Bathrooms supply and fix contract under TPC 2000 partnering contract. Working with the client and residents, Morrison set out to market test this supply. In keeping with many partnering contracts, Morrison’s performance in the delivery of this service links financial incentives to the achievement of agreed timescales. Continuous improvement approaches that are also linked to this initiative have meant that Morrison has been able to make significant improvements in voids turnaround times. Furthermore the partnering approach has provided increased quality and an 8% savings on costs compared to the previous service contract. The nature of the contract means that all savings achieved are returned to Crawley BC.
Morrison focuses also on the improvement of client satisfaction and have introduced a number of measures to achieve this including:

Neighbourhood Renewal The faster turnaround of voids has lead to much reduced vacancy rates in Crawley, a key objective of neighbourhood renewal.
