Position: Carpenter

My Story:

I am a trained carpenter and have worked for Morrison for five years; I mainly work on the voids team doing any carpentry repairs. I also install kitchen and bathrooms, alongside my colleagues on the team.

Working in void properties means we have to work quite closely to make sure we are able to meet our tight timescales and turn properties round so they can be let to new tenants. This can make the job quite pressured but because we all work well as a team, we are able to ensure we are successful at meeting our deadlines.

This job is very much about being a team player and one of the things I enjoy most about my job is the camaraderie within the team; we have a good laugh and a joke which makes a real difference to our working day.

The nature of the job means it is important to be adaptable to change as sometimes everyone needs to pitch in to make sure we meet our delivery targets. But you also need to be good at understanding the needs of others, whether within the team or the wider client.
