Equality and Diversity

Our dedicated corporate diversity team implements key initiatives throughout the business. The stereotype that women shouldn't go into construction is one we're especially keen on turning over.

For us at Morrison, promoting equality and dignity are, above all, about respect: giving it and getting it. Between operative and customer, colleague and colleague, inside and outside. Equality and dignity are good in themselves: they’re also good business.

We constantly assess the impact of our services, policies and projects on different groups so we can anticipate and minimise any negative impact.

Our people are fully trained in diversity and equality awareness, which is tailored to the local community in which they work. All our sub-contractors have to pass stringent diversity criteria and we’re committed to supporting the local economy where we can.

An area we’re particularly keen on is promoting local employment opportunities for women, the homeless and ex-offenders. And with many of our local authority clients, we dovetail our efforts with their particular diversity priorities.

When you work in the kind of socially diverse environments that we do, you learn that the way you get things done is by recognising and respecting difference.
