We’re a little obsessive about health and safety in our own business. Safe working is fundamental to the construction and maintenance way of life. And that translates to the places we serve in two ways: education and practical contributions – or work ‘in kind’.

Education

Raising awareness of safety among children is core to our approach.National Road Safety Week was a great opportunity to work with local schools and raise pupils’ awareness about road and vehicle safety. There’s nothing like standing next to a tipper to get you thinking about how to cross the road.

This concern also applies to local residents and safety issues in their home – such as wiring, carbon monoxide, fire or trip hazards. We run a variety of campaigns across our business to help.

Practical contributions

Since we have the skills, we like to invest where we can. Whether it’s putting in CCTV or repairing security fencing we can and will supplement other partners or clients in their efforts to make communities safe.
