In September 2010 Morrison was delighted to announce our first ever corporate charity partnership with Shelter.

Shelter is the leading housing and homelessness charity in the UK, a cause that we believe to be the perfect match with our business operations and completely aligned with our vision and values. Shelter undertake a range of activities to prevent and alleviate the distress caused by homelessness and poor housing conditions, including advice services, a free housing advice helpline, legal and support services, a street homelessness project and continuous campaigning to end Britain’s housing crisis for good. Shelter’s vision focuses on the belief that “Everybody needs a home in a place where they can thrive and that their work won’t stop until there is a home for everyone.”

Having a Corporate Charity Partner is a really exciting opportunity for Morrison, as working with Shelter to achieve their vision of improving housing is clearly very close to our hearts and many of our employee’s day jobs! By having a Corporate Charity Partner, we have committed to carrying out activities within our organisation and regions to support Shelter’s fundraising targets. We have chosen to set ourselves an ambitious target to raise £50k over the course of the corporate partnership.

Our local regions have been extremely pro-active in their commitment to support Shelter so far and we look forward to the many fundraising events that will be taking place throughout the coming year, in order to raise money for this great charity.
