Social & Economic Development

Repair, refurbishment and construction skills come in handy for things other than homes. Many parks and community buildings have had the Morrison touch.

Our local contracts have undertaken a variety of local community projects, for example; the completion of garden regeneration projects and the upgrade and repair of community spaces, such as community halls and centres in local areas. Within this, we have also organised clean up events in local neighbourhoods and estates, and this was particularly successful when we undertook and completed 'The Big Tidy Up' around the organisation which supported the important work of the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy.

In association with our clients, Morrison also supports existing local community development schemes.  We have organised 'Estate Action Days' which involve Morrison's repairs service (and housing management services if required) being taken out to the residents estates and communities, which creates a local point of access for residents so they can become more engaged with the services we offer.

It also means that the operational teams receive first hand feedback on the important issues affecting residents within an estate/area. This information can then be used by the local teams to develop their community development plans to ensure that only community initiatives that are beneficial to the local area are implemented.
